David and Goliath is one of the most famous stories in all of the Bible. The two main characters represent two different kinds of courage. Goliath, the Philistine champion, represents counterfeit courage. David, the Israelite champion, represents true courage. This morning we will look at the contrast and where we fit into this great story. This story also points towards our “True Champion” in the person of Jesus Christ. When we are frightened, God sends us a champion- just like He did with the Israelites - to fight our Goliaths.
